Look up the exact 4-digit institution code and 1-to-4-digit branch code used in Nepal Clearing House (NCHL-IPS / connectIPS) interbank settlements.
Select any bank tile or click 'Bank SWIFT and contacts' on a branch row to view its 8-character and 11-character SWIFT/BIC codes and head-office contact details.
Filter by Nepal's 20 Class 'A' commercial banks by default for everyday lookups, or switch to 'All NCHL members' to include development banks and finance companies.
Type a bank name, short code, branch location, NCHL code, or SWIFT code into the search field above (for example, Nabil, Hetauda, NARBNPKA, or 0401). By default, the directory scopes results to Nepal's 20 commercial banks so common retail branches appear immediately. To search across all 53 NCHL-IPS participating institutions (including Nepal Rastra Bank, Class 'B' development banks, and Class 'C' finance companies), click the All NCHL members toggle button.
Financial institutions in Nepal use several distinct code formats depending on whether a transfer is domestic or international:
0401 for Nabil Bank Limited, 0101 for Nepal Bank Limited, or 1901 for Global IME Bank Limited. Leading zeroes are significant and preserved.1 for Main/Head Office or 1200 for NRB Thapathali).0401001) for domestic interbank and internal transfer reference.NARBNPKA or NARBNPKAXXX). In Nepal, branches typically share their head-office 8-character SWIFT code (with XXX appended when an 11-character code is required by a foreign sender). The underlying 6,263-record member and branch list is sourced from the published NCHL-IPS directory (dated 2026-01-12). Bank-level SWIFT/BIC codes, source classifications (Official by Bank, Third Party, or Not Available), combined codes, phone numbers, and email addresses are institution-level enrichments from the supplied CSV dataset. Phone numbers and email addresses displayed in the institution overview represent official Head Office Contact details for central customer support (with support for branch-level contacts directly on branch cards as they are added). Additionally, some NCHL records represent internal administrative departments or clearing units rather than walk-in retail branches. Always verify critical wire and payment instructions directly with your bank before initiating a transfer.
| Institution Name | Short Code | NCHL Bank Code | 8-Char SWIFT | 11-Char SWIFT |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Nepal Rastra Bank (Central Bank) | NRB | 0001 | NRBLNPKA | NRBLNPKAXXX |
| Nepal Bank Ltd. | NBL | 0101 | NEBLNPKA | NEBLNPKAXXX |
| Rastriya Banijya Bank Ltd. | RBB | 0201 | RBBANPKA | RBBANPKAXXX |
| Nabil Bank Limited | NABIL | 0401 | NARBNPKA | NARBNPKAXXX |
| Standard Chartered Bank Nepal Ltd. | SCBN | 0601 | SCBLNPKA | SCBLNPKAXXX |
| Global IME Bank Ltd. | GLOBAL | 1901 | GLBBNPKA | GLBBNPKAXXX |
Most Nepali commercial banks route international wire transfers through their head-office 8-character SWIFT/BIC code (ending in NPKA). If an overseas sender's form requires an 11-character code, appending XXX (for example, NARBNPKAXXX) designates the primary office. Always confirm with your bank before receiving large remittances.
The 7- or 8-digit Routing / IPS Number combines the 4-digit NCHL bank code with the branch code zero-padded to at least 3 digits (for example, 0401001) for domestic interbank and internal transfer reference.
Contact numbers and email addresses in the dataset are head-office / central customer-service contacts for the parent institution, not individual branch phone lines.
Click the 'All NCHL members (53)' button under the search controls to expand the directory beyond the 20 commercial banks to all 53 participating NCHL institutions.
The NCHL-IPS directory includes internal clearing departments and administrative units alongside retail customer branches.
All formulas, datasets, and official references used on Yannis are documented openly.
