1. Gold and silver bullion rates

The Yannis Gold Prices plugin queries the public JSON rate endpoint published by the official website of the Federation of Nepal Gold & Silver Dealers' Association (FENEGOSIDA). Only the explicit source publication timestamp (converted to Asia/Kathmandu date) is stored as the rate date. Repeated hourly checks on the same day do not create duplicate entries, and any same-day correction is logged in an audit revision table. Large single-day price jumps exceeding the administrator guardrail threshold are held for a second matching check at least 45 minutes later before confirmation.

2. Bikram Sambat calendar and date conversion

Our B.S. to A.D. Date Converter and Monthly Calendar use the MIT-licensed @remotemerge/nepali-date-converter (v1.2.5) month-length dataset covering 1 Baishakh 1975 B.S. to 30 Chaitra 2099 B.S. (13 April 1918 A.D. to 13 April 2043 A.D.). Current-day lookups use the IANA Asia/Kathmandu time zone (UTC +05:45).

3. Nepali transliteration, Preeti character mapping, and grapheme segmentation

Roman-to-Nepali phonetic conversion (Nepali Typing) is powered by an adapted browser build of SahajLipi combined with a curated lexicon of high-frequency Nepali words. Legacy Preeti conversion (Preeti to Unicode and Unicode to Preeti) adapts the open-source unicode-to-preeti mapping tables with pre-base ikar (ि) and post-cluster reph (र्) reordering rules. The Nepali Word Counter uses browser Intl.Segmenter grapheme cluster segmentation so consonant-matra syllables are counted accurately.

4. Land area conversion factors

The Land Area Converter uses the standard Nepal building-bylaw and survey constants: 1 Ropani = 16 Aana = 64 Paisa = 256 Daam = 5,476 sq. ft., 1 Bigha = 20 Kattha = 400 Dhur = 72,900 sq. ft., and 1 sq. ft. = 0.09290304 sq. m. exactly.

5. Nepal Postal Code & Ward Code Finder dataset

The Nepal Postal Code Finder loads our validated 753-row local-level dataset (nepal-postal-codes.csv) with Smart Differential CSV Sync across all 753 municipalities and rural municipalities in 7 provinces and 77 districts, verifying 5-digit local-level code uniqueness, 7-digit ward office ranges (01 to No_of_Ward), legacy district codes, Google Plus Codes, and GPS coordinates for the interactive 753-point map and Near-Me distance radar.

6. Nepal Bank Branch & SWIFT Directory dataset

The Nepal Bank Codes, SWIFT & Branch Finder is powered by a 6,263-record dataset across 53 financial institutions (including 20 Class 'A' commercial banks). The underlying institution and branch codes are sourced from the Nepal Clearing House Limited (NCHL-IPS) member and branch list dated 2026-01-12 (https://nchl.com.np/download/). Bank-level 8-character and 11-character SWIFT/BIC codes, SWIFT source classifications (4,950 rows marked Official by Bank, 760 rows marked Third Party, and 553 rows marked Not Available), 7- or 8-digit Routing / IPS numbers for internal transfer (4-digit bank code + branch code padded to at least 3 digits), and Head Office phone/email contacts (with extensible support for branch-level contacts) come from the bundled enriched CSV and can be supplemented with administrator-verified HTTPS SWIFT overrides.
