Terms of use
Guidelines for using the 15 interactive tools, calculators, reference directories, and practical guides published on Yannis (yannis.com.np).
Clear, fair terms for personal, academic, and office use across Nepal and the diaspora.
1. Permitted everyday use
You may access and use the tools, converters, calendars, reference directories, and guides on Yannis (yannis.com.np) free of charge for personal, academic, editorial, and commercial office tasks. By using this website, you agree to comply with these Terms of Use and our Disclaimer and Privacy Policy.
2. Fair access and prohibition on automated scraping
To keep Yannis fast and freely accessible for everyone without paywalls or intrusive advertisements, you agree not to:
- Use automated bots, crawlers, or high-frequency scripts to scrape or bulk-harvest the REST or AJAX endpoints powering our Gold & Silver Price Tracker, Nepal Postal Code Finder, or Nepal Bank Branch Directory.
- Attempt to bypass security nonces, rate limits, or input validation filters on our contact form or administrative endpoints.
- Frame or mirror Yannis tools on third-party commercial websites in a manner that misrepresents authorship or strips source caveats.
3. User responsibility for verifying critical results
While every utility on Yannis is built on documented datasets and tested conversion formulas, all outputs are provided as practical aids rather than certified legal or financial determinations. Before relying on any converted date, land measurement, Nepali text passage, bullion calculation, postal/ward code, map coordinate, or bank branch/SWIFT code for a legal contract, citizenship or passport filing, property deed, wire transfer, or financial commitment, you are solely responsible for verifying the figure against the authoritative primary source (such as the Department of Survey, General Post Office, Nepal Clearing House, or your financial institution).
4. Intellectual property and open-source attributions
The custom Yannis site architecture, design system (ynx- namespace), editorial guides, and custom WordPress plugin code are protected by copyright and applicable open-source licenses (GPL-2.0-or-later). Third-party open-source components and public reference datasets—including the MIT-licensed @remotemerge/nepali-date-converter Bikram Sambat dataset, adapted SahajLipi transliteration rules, Unicode-to-Preeti mapping tables, and bundled SIL Open Font License (OFL) typography—retain their respective attributions and licenses as documented in our plugin packages and Data Sources & Methods page.
5. Limitation of liability and service availability
Yannis is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law in Nepal, Yannis and its maintainers shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from the use of—or inability to use—any tool, calculation, bullion rate, postal code, coordinate, or banking code published on this site. We may update datasets, refine tool logic, or perform scheduled maintenance at any time without prior notice.
