Privacy policy

1. Typing, date conversion, and calculator inputs (12 browser-local tools)

All text typed or pasted into our Nepali Typing, Preeti to Unicode, Unicode to Preeti, Keyboard Reference, Numeral Converter, and Word Counter tools, as well as dates and numbers entered into our Date Converter, Monthly Calendar, Age Calculator, Date Difference, Nepal Time, and Land Area Converter, are processed exclusively inside your own web browser using client-side JavaScript. None of your typed paragraphs, drafts, birth dates, or land figures are transmitted to our server or stored in a database. Refreshing or closing the browser tab clears your workspace memory immediately.

2. Bullion rate history, postal code, and bank branch directory lookups

Three utilities on Yannis query read-only reference tables stored in our local WordPress database:

• Gold & Silver Prices (/gold-price-nepal/): Your browser requests historical rate series from our internal WordPress REST endpoint (/wp-json/yannis-gold/v1/history). Scheduled checks of official bullion feeds are performed by our server in the background and never transmit visitor data to external sites.
• Nepal Postal Code Finder (/postal-codes/): When you search or filter by province, district, or municipality, your browser sends a read-only lookup query (search string, province, district, and page number) to our internal WordPress AJAX endpoint (admin-ajax.php?action=ynpc_lookup). No personal data is collected or stored, and the plugin does not call Google Maps APIs or geocode your location in the background. If you click an external "View map location" or "Postal code source" link, you navigate directly to Google Maps or the Nepal General Post Office website under their respective privacy policies.
• Nepal Bank Branch Finder (/bank-codes/): When you filter or search bank branches, your browser queries our internal read-only WordPress REST endpoint (/wp-json/ybd/v1/branches) with your search term, bank code, scope, and page number. Search queries are not logged to user profiles or used for tracking.

3. Self-hosted fonts and zero third-party ad trackers

Yannis serves all stylesheets, scripts, and Devanagari fallback web fonts directly from our own domain. Your browser does not make background font requests to Google Fonts or third-party CDNs when loading our pages.

4. Contact form submissions and anti-spam protection

When you submit a message through our Contact page, your name, email address, and message text are sent to the site administrator via email solely to respond to your enquiry or investigate a reported bug. Please do not include sensitive personal information (such as citizenship numbers, passwords, or bank account numbers) in a support message. To prevent automated spam without invasive third-party CAPTCHA trackers, the form stores a short-lived (5-minute) HMAC-SHA256 cryptographic hash of the request IP in a temporary WordPress transient that expires automatically.

5. Standard server logs and administrator cookies

Like all standard web servers, our hosting environment records routine HTTP request metadata (IP address, requested URL path, user-agent string, and timestamp) for security monitoring, rate limiting, and error diagnostics. Yannis does not set tracking or advertising cookies for public visitors; WordPress session cookies are set only for signed-in site administrators.
